Local Mechanics

Modified Master Biogenetics:

As an alternative to a player raising their arm over their head, they may instead clasp both of their hands in front of themselves. When using this alternative, Master Biogenetics lasts a maximum of 10 minutes. All other requirements of the skill remain the same.

An item with this keyword expires at the end of the current event unless stored between events in a container that prevents the expiration of Perishable items. The expiration of an item with this keyword may be delayed X number of months where X is the number after the keyword on the Perishable item card. Before the end of the character’s first twelves being checked in, show Logistics/Public Works the container you are using and any Perishable items you have stored between events, and they will sign the card to mark it as not expired for the current event.

Research: Any number of people can come together and spend 30 minutes or more of Active Roleplay researching something and then find a Staff member to describe your research method. This time is reduced by five minutes by the maximum Education level of any group member (someone with Master Education reduces it to 15 minutes). For every block of time, one person in the research group must spend 5 mind, and the group will be able to ask one question of the Staff member about the thing being researched. If the research is interrupted, the timer is paused until any member of the group returns to the research. A Sage in the research group grants one additional free question. (EG: a group with someone with M Education can spend 45 minutes with 3 expenditures of 5 mind to ask 3 questions of staff) (Note: This mechanic is for research in general, specific plots may deviate from this mechanic)

Public Library: Players have provided shared access to the majority of all item blueprints. You may use any of these prints while crafting. Do not remove the blueprint from the book. These prints can not be traded or stolen.

Handy Disguises: Players with Proficient Stealth may borrow disguise clothing from Ops by checking in with a Guide on duty.

Weapons Lending: Players may borrow a weapon physrep from Ops by checking in with a guide on duty, and providing either a photo ID or $50 cash as collateral.
