Societies & sister financal institutions!

Everyone loves them and we’ve got a few local ones! Read on to find out guidelines about plot involvement (and how they’re different from sister financial institutions)!

The player-run societies with a presence in NorCal are:

  • Etherium Pointe Civic Society

  • Sluggernauts

  • House of Rye

  • Hive Combat Logistics Inc

  • The Path of Orpheus

  • Diadem Solutions, LLC

  • Delta.wav

  • Pinkerton Detective Agency

  • Friends of Family Æther

You have to have 5 members to create a new society and email us with information so we can put it on our website (exact timing tbd). Plot involvement is generally tied to player involvement and plot requests and hold little to no mechanical weight (outside certain blueprints).

To explain further: If you would like to see your Society on the website, email us at directors@dystopiarisingnocal.com with the subject line “player society description”, a short description of your society, and a character or characters (with player names, for our reference) who are the points of contact for that society. If it’s not already on sheets, add character names and player numbers to your email.

We’re glad to involve your society in plot, but the amount of plot involvement will vary somewhat depending on how much effort is being put into the society on the player/character level. More effort and work? Generally more visibility and engagement outside of plot requests. This doesn’t mean you need a bunch of props, just roleplay time and attention.

We can’t be everywhere at once, and we’re always gonna miss stuff, so plot requests (especially for societies without clear plot hooks) are always going to be the best and most straightforward way to get plot for your society.

These are different from sister financial institutions because there are not clear and direct mechanics attached to them (except some items) and societies will not necessarily influence the financial institutions. However, a society can be both (eg: the civic society)!

Hope this helps!
